I Did not Expect this much

I did not expect this much from homeschooling. And no im not talking about the school work. Though writing the plan and sorting out the outcomes was a challenge at the beginning. What I didn't expect was the strength and abilities that came from me, by stepping up as a parent and as a teacher. I forgot how smart I was academically - But more importantly my daughter was able to learn at her pace, she was able to deep dive into topics that interested her both in the school outcome requirements and outside. People say "I could not teach my child. I'm not smart enough". To me this is a falacy. We have been conditioner to feel like we can only do things within a box and anything that I out of what Society says is norm is just not achievable. So let me share with you a few of the positives that have occurred over the past 3 years whilst home schooling. * I have taught my daughter to fail and get back up and try again. Homeschooling

So high school started and the bullying didn't stop. In fact it got worse.  We attempted to change schools and each time we were told - we are not taking out of area. Private schools - full. In our location, they keeping adding suburbs and houses and primary schools.....but no high schools. I spoke with the education department - that adventure was a stress mess and a huge wanted of time. I always knew we were just numbers, but cattle get more respect than the education department gives you. So  what else was to be done. Homeschooling was our next only logical step..  So a new adventure began.

It Wasn't Planned

Homeschooling was never our dream or really even a thought.  My kids went to school as planned. But then my daughter reached year six and the bullying began. At first it was small things, then it became bigger. By the end of the year she was a mess. But year 7 is coming, she is going to high school and most of the kids were not attending the same school. It will be fine right? Wrong.....it just took a few kids that moved to the same school to make her life miserable
